Which languages does Shiboo support?+
Shiboo currently supports English, Czech, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, and Ukrainian. Choose your dictation language in Settings.
Does it work offline?+
Yes. Local dictation works offline once a model is installed. Cloud transcription and refinement are optional, consent-gated features that require a connection.
Is my audio stored?+
Local dictation is processed on-device. With cloud transcription, Shiboo sends audio over an encrypted connection to the configured provider and does not persist it in Shiboo-controlled storage. Provider retention depends on the approved production configuration and terms. Saved transcripts stay in Shiboo's local app data on your Mac and can be deleted from History.
How is Shiboo different from Apple Dictation?+
Shiboo cleans up filler words, fixes punctuation, applies your personal vocabulary, and works identically across every app — not just Apple's.
Can I use my own hotkey?+
Yes. Right Option is the default, and you can choose another supported key or key combination in Settings.
